Avi - 6/11/2019

Avilene ate most of whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, brown rice, stir fry vegetables, and ate some oranges.

I have a note left over from yesterday afternoon when Linnea was trying to climb up the slide while others were trying to go down.  Avi said, "I wouldn't do that if I was you!  It's not safe!!"  That's exactly the phrases I use.  :)  Linnea said, "ok."  Thank you for watching out for the smaller and younger kids Avi!!  You are awesome.

First picture: Avi was working to get her sunglasses perched on top of her head.  I wasn't going to keep this picture until I saw that both of your children are in the picture.  You can see sweetie number two in the mirror.  :)  Second picture: This doll Avi is working with has snaps and a zipper for them to learn with.  Avi said, "Hey Gary!  I got it!"  Good work Avi.  I also like the accessories you have on Avi; head band and soccer shoes!

Last two pictures; Nora, Avi, and Atley doing some drawing with markers, pens, and pencils.  They also did some stickers and stamps.  When they started with the pens Atley said, "I"m gonna sign out.  I'm gonna sign out."  (Making reference to "signing in and out on the attendance sheets.)  Both Nora and Avi picked up on that and started chanting it too.  "I'm gonna sign out. I'm gonna sign out!"  When Avi finished she asked, "How do you like this page!?"  Good work Avi!  It represents lots of work.  So she turned it over to the back side and asked, "Are you gonna take a picture of the other side?!?"  Ok sure, why not!?!  :)

Avi - 6/10/2019

Avilene ate cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef, ate whole wheat pita bread, ate her avocado, bite of tomatoes, and ate her strawberries.

I have a note left over from Friday afternoon at snack time.  Avi said, "Well I'm going to a wedding!" Atley, not to be outdone of course came back with, "Well I'm moving to a new house!!"  Haha!  Avi, not to be outdone of course came back with, "Well I"m keeping the same house!!"  Whew!  I'm glad we got that all settled!

First picture: Avi, Nora, and Atley playing with that saucer again!!  Makes me laugh.  They think I got the saucer for them to play with and I guess I did!  And it keeps Callahan interested so that works too!!  Second picture:  Avi kept saying, "Don't take the picture yet, don't take the picture yet!!  I'm gonna make something REALLY BIG!!"   So when she wasn't watching I took the picture!!  This was about the end of the project anyhow.  :)  Later, she did another fairly elaborate structure with the legos.  And she lost her mind when Svea got in the middle of it, but we managed to keep the damage to a minimum!!  :)

Last picture: Sunglasses from Target for a dollar each!  I already posted one of these pictures in Svea's Blog, but this is such a cute picture of Avilene!  Thumbs up Gary it was a good choice!!  :)

Avi - 6/7/2019

Avi ate two servings of kix cereal and some raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate salmon, half of whole wheat dinner roll, no cauliflower, and bites of her mangoes.  Avi was eating breakfast alone because she arrived late from the dentist and she yelled something to me that sounded like; "those round balls."  I said, "Well most balls are round, but I don't know what you're talking about."  She said, "More round balls."  What?!?  She said, "I want some more of those round yellow balls."  Haha!!  Ok, now I get it.  You want more kix cereal.  :)

First picture: I got the saucer out for Callahan!?!  Something new and boy everyone was instantly messing with it.  So here's an 'aerial' view (standing on the blue balance beam) of all six kids at Little Treasures.  :)  Avi was playing with everything on it and kept saying, "Hey Callahan! Watch this!! Hey Callahan! Watch this!!"

Next two pictures: Well this pretty much took up the rest of Avilene's morning.  We did read some books at Story Time, but other than that, this is where she was at!!  Doing some more dot painting. Last picture: she'd changed to using just markers, but still working on the same picture.  The other two kids had been done for a long time.  I will probably talk about this for as long as she's at Little Treasures, but I LOVE how she can focus!!

Avi - 6/6/2019

Avilene ate whole wheat English muffin and a bite of oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate no ground beef, ate a large serving of whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas and ate her applesauce.  The lunch time discussion at the table was entertaining as usual!!  There was lots of talk about visiting each other homes, having birthday parties, halloween costumes, and how much candy they will get!  During the birthday discussion Avi pointed at Nora and said, "You will have to bring me a present!"  Haha!

I took my glasses off when I was wiping some sweat off my face this morning.  Avi was watching and she asked, "Is that because your eyes were sweating?"  Haha!  That made me laugh, but then I realized it was a very logical question!!

This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when the kids were "painting" the sidewalk with rollers and brushes.  As I've already mentioned in Svea's Blog:  Svea - top right - didn't do much painting, but rather she was wildly slinging water left, right, and up!!  Haha!

Next picture: Avi had been here less than 5 minutes when she started dot painting again; picking up right where she left off yesterday.  She did 2 more of these large pictures and the end result is pretty impressive.  (Even though at her age the "process" is way more important than the end result. I frequently remind myself of that!)  Last picture: Linnea was trying to engage Svea in some play on the mattress and about the same time Avi was determined to wrestle Svea.  Anyhow, I thought it was a cute picture!!

Avi - 6/5/2019

Avilene ate half of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  Explanation for lunch: I neglected to put something in the fridge last evening so I couldn't serve it to the children.  So they got to eat "my" breakfast!  Here's the ingredients: Pork sausage (that we season ourselves from ground pork without sugar!! yup, they put sugar in everything!!), scrambled eggs, hash browns, peppers, mushrooms, and spinach.  Nutritionally rich!!  :)  Avi ate two servings of that, most of crackers, and ate her tropical fruit.

This first note is left over from yesterday afternoon, but it was very cute.  I was feeding Callahan his bottle and Avi had to go poop.  I told her she'd have to wait a few minutes for me to wipe her.  So I finished feeding Cal and when I walked into the bathroom I asked Avi, "How are you doing?"  She said, "So far so good!"  Haha!  That made me laugh!

First picture: Avi hasn't seen this book for awhile, but she loves showing me the picture of the pocket with a bandana sticking out of it.  I carry one just like that in my pocket and she loves showing it to me.  "Just like your's Gary!!"  By the time I took the picture she was already pointing to the other page and was interested in the "lollipop."  :)

Last two pictures: We did some dot painting today.  To say Avi "got into it" would be an understatement!!  She really really got into it!!!  Below are two of those she did.  She did a total of 4 pictures this size.  Wow!  She worked steady for over 45 minutes on these and she wanted to do more except it was lunch time.  We (Lauralea and I) are so impressed with how she can focus on activities like this for that length of time!

Avi - 6/4/2019

Avilene ate waffle and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of chicken, ate whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and baked cinnamon apples.

First two pictures: Taken yesterday afternoon.  Avi has been enjoying the various activities outside; besides just running like a wild child and burning off lots of energy!!  She's awesome at pounding nails and she probably did 20 -25 before she was done.  The majority of the time she was alone in there as you see in the picture.  Second picture: Going over the top of the rock wall!!  :)

First picture from this morning: Avi asked, "Can I have the binoculars?"  The neighbor was sweeping the sidewalk and Avi said, "I spotted him!"  Then moments later she pointed them at me and said, "I see you Gar Gar!"  (rhymes with hair hair)

Next picture: This was the first thing Avi did this morning: fill the bus full of people.  Now that's a full bus!!  Last picture: Taking a picture of Gary while I'm taking a picture of her!  The digital picture frame that's mounted at the meal table displays mostly pictures that they've taken.  We just switched them out this past weekend for some "new" pictures.  After breakfast Avilene spent most of the morning in the preschool room doing lots of activities!  Lauralea and I are both very impressed with how long she'll work on a project and the level of work she does!!

Avi - 6/3/2019

Avilene ate three servings of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey burger, bites of whole wheat hamburger bun, bite of tomatoes, ate avocado, and two servings of cherries.

I spotted a rabbit across the street by the mailboxes.  It ran under a parked car and we waited a few minutes and it came out and it went to Big Willy's gate and hung out there for a couple of minutes.  Avi said, "He's trying to get in."  Then it sprinted across the street to everyone's delight!!  It was fun entertainment for the kids!!

We were talking about Avi's "tattoos."  So I asked, "Who gave you the tattoos?"  (I was curious about who put them on her arm.)  Avi said, "Bubba did."  What!?!  Haha!  So I better rephrase the question! "Who put them on your arm?"  She said, "Mama did."  :)

We did a toy, book, puzzle, and preschool exchange this weekend and here's the first picture with Avi holding her legos creation.  As usual she'd worked very hard on her project.  And she was proud of it and wanted me to take a picture of it.

Next picture:  Avi had on all her soccer equipment including soccer shoes, shorts, cap with headband (ha), and four layers on top.  Linnea and Nora joined Avi at the mirror to watch her make some final adjustments.  Last picture; essentially the same dress-up clothes except she didn't have her cap or headband.  She's ready!!
