Avi - 3/10/2020

Avilene ate whole wheat English muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast,  For lunch she ate pork roast, whole wheat toast, two servings of beets, and three servings of applesauce.  Just in case you've missed it she eats 2 servings every time we have beets.

I love this first picture: This was immediately after waving bye to Momma at the window.  She took the time to say "Hi" to Miles and give him a love.  (All on her own initiative!)  So precious and sweet.  I told her how awesome that was and she was doing it some more when Linnea showed up with a tomato from the food toys and offered it to him.  (Second picture.)  Avi didn't know anything was going on behind her back.  :)

Next picture: Avi and Atley were putting all the stuffed animals they could find on top of Baby Miles. And as you can see he wasn't the least bit concerned or maybe not aware of what they were doing. Haha!  Avilene said, "Hey Atley! I found another animal!  And I put it on Miles!" Atley voiced her approval; "Good job!"

Last picture;  Avi did several activities in the Preschool Room this morning.  When she was doing some drawing she said she was trying to make a "leaf."  Again, I love how hard she works and all the attention to detail.

Avi - 3/9/2020

Avilene ate Chex cereal and three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, avocado, tomatoes, and two servings of mandarin oranges.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Avi found lots of activities and games to try in the Preschool Room.  First picture: This is a floor activity and you select the cards to indicate where the players are supposed to put their elbow, knee, foot, head, etc.  Avi had a different idea, which is fine - I love their creativity, but I had NO idea how she was playing the game.  haha!

Next two pictures; Everyone was engaged and I was taking pictures.  Avilene played and experimented with this activity for the longest time!!  Which of course is awesome!!  There is a drill, wrench, or screwdriver to screw the bolts into the holes.  What you can't see in the picture are the color patterns below the holes and the kids are supposed to use that color of bolt.

Last picture; Avi did several more activities along with the puzzle and a couple of other puzzles.  I don't think she was in the Daycare Room more than just a few minutes all morning.

Avi - 3/6/2020

Avilene ate two servings of oatmeal and ate several dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of tilapia, a couple of whole wheat elbow noodles, two servings of green beans, and two servings of applesauce.

It was getting close to lunch time and I told Avi; "Hey I usually have one or two quotes from you for the Blog.  Today I have nothing.  What do you have to say?"  Avi said, "Gary is a Doggen-head!!" Haha! That made me laugh.  So what does it mean?  Ask her.

First picture:  Atley and Avi looking for "airplane" and "woody."  I think this picture is funny because it really does reflect how the search frequently goes.  Atley is searching and Avi is distracted by an activity.  To clarify: I've been hiding the two things together so if they find one, they find both.  Because I'm running out of hiding spots!!!!  Avi knows Atley will eventually find them!!  haha.

Next picture: Avi was in this position and looking at the chair for a few minutes - 2 or 3 - and later I asked her if she was trying to determine how the chair works.  She said, "Yes."  :)  Last picture: Doing some ping-pong with Atley.  :)

Avi - 3/5/2020

Avilene ate half of "multi-grain sandwich thin" (store out of whole wheat bagels), and three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, two servings of whole wheat tortillas, two servings of diced red potatoes, and two servings of fruit salad.

Avilene was jumping off the igloo and then explaining in extraordinary detail how it all happened!! Something like this; "Gary!! I went like this, landed on my knees, then on my head, and then started bouncing!!"  Svea was listening and she said, "WOW! That's amazing!"  Haha.  That was SUPER cute.  You have your own cheerleader Avi!

This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when we went outside and the yard finally dried up sufficiently so we could play with minimal amount of mud.  If you could see this picture in "live" mode you'd see that they are standing on ice.  And they are basically "running in place."  Svea was enjoying the scene and also enjoying chewing on a chunk of ice.  :)

Next picture: Avi was laying in the chair pretending to sleep and Svea wanted to join her.  And Avi was happy to oblige.  However, it was a tight fit and only lasted a few moments before Avi asked Svea, "Uhhh, do you want to sleep somewhere else?"  Ha!

In this last picture Avilene was showing me her legos house and describing how you would make an entrance through the front door.  Ha.  It went like this; "Here's how they get inside; they climb up here, jump over here, slide and crawl through here, and then walk in."  Haha.  A friggin aerobic workout just to get in your house.  :)

Avi - 3/4/2020

Avilene ate two servings of whole wheat toast and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger and sausage pizza with meat, peppers, pineapple, olives, and tomato sauce.  No whole wheat pizza crust and she ate three servings of pineapple on the side.

First picture: The wind was gusting at times this morning and the girls are standing on a stool watching the propellor and steering wheel on the airplane outside whirl around and around.  Some times it was going pretty fast.  Frequently the girls would jump up and go to the kitchen to watch when they'd hear the wind chimes on the patio.  :)

Next picture: As I always mention Avi says; "Gary, look what I made. You wanna take a picture?"  Well of course and I need a picture for the Blog as well. She said this was a "monster" she made and the top piece sticking out is the "nose."  I said, "You don't need to point at it."  Avi said, "Yes I do, so my Mom knows what I'm talking about."  Haha.

Last picture:  Atley is intently watching Avi do some art combined with writing.  This is kind of how Atley prefers to do art right now and that's just fine.  I have heard Atley ask Avi to do one for her as well so she has something to put on her cubby.  :)  However, as soon as Avi was done Atley straightened out the "marker basket" you see on the table.  It already looks neat and organized (thanks to Atley), but Atley makes sure everything is in order.  Thank you Atley.

Avi - 3/3/2020

Avilene ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of chicken mixed with stir fry vegetables, half of brown rice, and ate mandarin oranges.

First picture: Avi and Atley were trying to make "bridges" for Cal to crawl under.  He totally cooperated with them.  "Yup, I can do that."  :)  Following picture; Avi built this by herself except she asked for my help with the very top.  She and Atley were crawling through it and it stood for probably an hour before Cal knocked it over.  And I was impressed because did NOT scream at him!!

Next picture: Avi was drawing some pictures and said, "Hey Gary! Look at my roads."  Here was my first thought: "Maybe my Father-in-Law is correct when he says traffic circles were designed by Pre-schoolers!"  Haha!  (My opinion; they move traffic quite efficiently!!)  Good job Avilene.  I'll pass that along to Dept of Transportation!!

Last picture: Avi was doing this puzzle and working hard to intentionally mismatch the bodies and the heads of the animals.  She said, "Isn't this funny!?!"  Yup I agree!

Avi - 3/2/2020

Avilene ate two servings of cheerios and ate banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, two servings of olives, ate avocado, and two servings of strawberries.

I told Atley and Avi that Cal saw where I hid "Woody" and "Airplane" this morning.  Ok, yes it was a bit of a white lie if you're keeping score!  He was there, but I don't think he had a clue what I was doing.  It was pretty funny!  They couldn't find the hidden toys and were peppering Cal with questions: "Where is it Cal!?!  Where is it!?!  Where are they!?!  Tell us Cal!!"

First picture: Avilene is working hard at building her legos "swimming pool."  She brought it over to show me, then dropped it, and started all over again.  And she didn't complain or say a word about it. I asked if this was part of Elsa's Castle like she did last week.  "Nope; this is a swimming pool."  :)

Next picture: This happens to be a "selfie" although I don't think you'd necessarily guess that.  Right!?!  Avi was stuck in the "rat trap" between my legs and Atley was trying to give her friend a push on through!!  :)  Last picture:  Here's how you watch yourself taking a selfie!!  Haha.  I asked her if she was taking a picture of herself chewing her fingers!!  :)
