Avi - 1/4/2019

Avilene ate two servings of cream of wheat cereal and ate dried plums for breakfast.  Avi was watching Lauralea making and stirring the cereal for us and she asked, "Do you have a wisk?" What do you use that for I asked Avi.  She said, "For waffles."  For lunch she ate most of baked beef kabobs with meat, peppers, and zucchini.  She ate brown rice and ate a large serving of pineapple.  I set the timer while waiting for the water to boil to start the rice and Atley asked me what I was doing.  I said, "I'm waiting for the water to boil."  "What do you think that means; water to boil?"  Avi said, "It's getting hot!"  Good answer!!  Atley said, "It's getting really scary!"  Haha!  Then she added, "It's gonna be really loud!!"  Ha!  No, you're totally safe!

Avi was pestering me to read books this morning.  Story Time is a regular part of our mornings, but Avi was wanting it immediately.  I continued to clean up from breakfast and was ready.  I don't usually "bribe" the kids, but this was kind of funny and it worked!!  Avi kept chanting, "Read books, read books, read books."  Finally I said, "Ok, you let me fix your ponytail and I'll read books."  Avi said, "Fix it!"  Haha!  That cracked me up!  "Fix it."  Love the picture!

Here are a couple pictures from Avilene's morning.  She was playing with the cars on the window sill again.  I always think it's interesting how they'll play with the same thing for a day or two, maybe a few days or whatever, and then they may never revisit it again.  The battery powered car is zipping across the sill and Avi immediately jumps over to protect Linnea; or more likely she was protecting her car from Linnea!  Haha!  Last picture: Avi worked hard at this again today.  You can see the pattern on the table to the left and she's recreating it on the left stem.  The beads are small and she's counting the ones in the pattern to get the right amount of each color.  Very impressive.
