Avilene ate whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat noodles, ate green beans, and fruit salad. Here's a piece of breakfast conversation today; Atley; "My Mom said it's gonna be cold today." Nora; "My Dad said it's gonna rain on my birthday!" (LOL) Avi; "My Mom said you can't touch the elf or it has to stay at the North Pole for a few weeks." Listening to these conversations and hearing a child's perspective has always been my favorite part of caring for children.
They were playing on the mattress and Atley said, "Hey! Who messed up my spot!?!" Nora said, "You did, because you're so big." :) The girls kept saying the word "comfortable." They were "sounding it out" by syllables. It was actually pretty cool and very cute. It sounded like this with 3 distinct syllables. "comf-ta-bull." Nice attempt.
This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. I mentioned this to Momma Molly yesterday, but I really like how Avi will follow directions and especially picture illustrations. Notice the paper on the patio floor in front of her and that's what she's doing here. Looking at the paper and then trying hard to replicate what she sees.
Following picture: Science with Lauralea! Lauralea has a very packed Thursday so we did Science today. It's so fun to do the experiments and watch their faces with expressions of wonderment and enjoyment!! Today's theme was "baking soda" and there are lots of experiments you can do with baking soda. The kids each have 6 lids full of baking soda, water, food coloring of their choice, and then adding vinegar with the dropper. Similar to geysers in Yellowstone Park on a very small scale. Haha. Following picture: Anytime you have vinegar and baking soda you gotta have a volcano!!
Last two pictures with her little buddies. She loves these two guys. Reading to Cal and then sitting with Miles. I like her expression in the last picture how she's deep in her thoughts.
