Avi - 04/01/2021

Avilene skipped this breakfast. (French toast and dried plums.) For lunch she ate two servings of pulled pork, two servings of whole wheat toast, ate peas, and two servings of strawberries.

First picture: Well Avi arrived at 8:43, waved bye at the window to Daddy, and was hiding eggs by 8:46. Haha. Cracks me up. (Pun intended. Laugh. Thank you.) I've been talking about hiding eggs all week and late last week. When I mention going outside to play in the afternoon the first question; "Can we hide eggs on the patio!?!" Haha.

The Science Theme today: Flowers and growing things. As you know there are endless amounts of experiments that we can do in Science and lots of them take time to draw a conclusion on the results. Now that we've introduced several experiments to the kids we're gonna do some - like planting seeds - where you don't have instant answers.  Here's an overview what we did today; 1. Dissecting parts of a plant and introducing the jobs of each part. Root system, stems, leaves, and petals.

Here are some more pictures from today's Science Time. Each person has their own cup with food coloring of their choice. Then we added lots of stems with flowers into each cup and it will (theoretically) change the color of the flower. May takes hours or days. We'll see. Next picture; Wet paper towels in jar and plastic bags with flower seeds. (Zinnia and Marigold) No dirt. No air. Will it sprout? We'll see. Last picture with some potting soil planting seeds the old fashioned way! Haha. Will it work? We'll see. The kids also made their own flowers from coffee filters and those are on their cubbies. They really turned out cute and if you're interested in knowing the process you can ask.
