Avi & Svea - 9/6/2018

Avilene ate waffle and half of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of shepherd's pie with hamburger, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  She also ate whole grain tortilla and cherries.

Atley is still occasionally obsessed with sprinklers.  :)  She spotted the neighbor's sprinkler this morning and was saying to Avi; "See the sprinkler Avi, see the sprinkler Avi, see the sprinkler Avi!?!" About 5 or 6 times.  Avi responded; "I DO see it."  Haha!  Then Avi and Atley were doing a lively game of chase; actually more like follow-the-leader (except without a leader) because they weren't trying to catch each other!  Around and around the igloo with frequent flops on the mattress giggling and laughing.

Story behind the first picture: Atley had thrown a book and it sailed across the room and almost hit baby Svea.  (I have a "no throwing any toys in the house" rule because of that very thing.)  I told Atley; "That was actually close to hitting Baby Svea!"  This was Atley's response -  she ran to give the baby a love.  Maybe she thought it had hit her.  Anyhow, I like it when I see them showing compassion when I haven't initiated it!!  Thank you Atley.  (Although I did eventually have to tell her to get off the baby!!  Haha!!)  You're gonna squish her with kindness!!

Avi was nervously chewing on her fingernails and I said, "Avi, you don't need to chew your fingernails."  And she said, "But it's bugging me."  Ok.  Lauralea spent time with the kids doing preschool trays before she left for work and they loved it.  We also introduced them to the art cabinet and laid the ground rules for them to eventually access it by themselves.  In the second picture Avi had done some shape stickers and was then using the stamps.  She said, "I'm stamping my shapes Gary!!"  Yes you are; you stamped every one of them!!

Next Picture - "I'm trying to get through and someone is blocking my path!"  Like a typical 13 month old Linnea wasn't sure how to proceed so she just pushed through between Svea and the changing table and somehow managed to not knock over Svea.  And it was Linnea who was yelling!  Haha!  Hilarious!!  We also had some outside time and everyone was under the climber except for Svea, although Atley had left before I could get a picture.
