Avi - 1/9/2019

Avilene ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with pasta sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, bite of cauliflower, and ate half of fruit salad.  This first picture is from breakfast time and it's a good example of how much these kids are starting to help each other.  And it's happening more and more all the time.  I was feeding Svea and Nora said, "Help me Gary."  She wanted help spooning the last of her mangoes.  Avi jumped up and said, "I'll help her."  So I had to stop long enough to get a picture!"  Thank you Avi.

Avi was doing some more pretend play this morning and I love listening to their imaginations run!  Avi said, "I gotta go to school and my Mommy's late!"  Ha!  Another one:  "Hurry!  We're late for the Lady Griz soccer team!!"  I'm seeing a "late" theme here!!  Haha!

Another Avi moment this morning that made me laugh.  And this is Classic Avilene!!  We have a basic rule about the gate out to the preschool area/eating area.  "Last one out shut the gate."  And they totally get it, they get the reason why - because of the babies - and the three older kids will remind each other.  "Shut the gate."  The only exception to this rule is when both babies are in their highchairs or napping.  Then it obviously doesn't matter and they get that as well!  So this morning both babies were in their highchairs and Avi said, "Gary, can I shut the gate?"  I didn't care and I said, "sure."  Avi said, "Why do you want me to shut the gate...we don't need to...?"  Huh, what the heck, you're the one who wanted to?  Haha!  Cracked me up!  I hope I live long enough to see you get married some day Avilene Nelson!!  That person better have their act together!!  :)

Hey, are you curious about Avi "allowing" me to put a ponytail in her hair.  More bribery!!  Ha!  Yesterday afternoon she had almost made it up on the changing table.  That is off limits of course, but I said, "Hey, you can crawl on up, but only if I put a ponytail in your hair when you get up there!!"  Haha!  She thought that was a good deal!  And we had a repeat this morning.  She said, "I'll crawl up for a ponytail!"  Haha!  Ok, go for it!
